Haifoss, situated on the south end of Sprengisandur, not very far away from Stöng, is one of the most interesting waterfalls in Iceland. To access the location, you may easily do it by car. But it is strongly recommended to take the 2nd road signposted Stöng, if your coming from Selfoss in the South. The first signpost Stöng is leading to the farm-museum Stöng. A couple of kilometers further to the North you'll fing another sign Stöng, the road leading also to Granni and Haifoss. I strongly recommend not to use the track marked on the maps starting at the powerstation on the road Selfoss - Hrauneyjar. It is rather rough, with lots of sharp, tire-cutting stones and ends somewhere in the swamp, where it seemed impossible to continue.
