Faxadalur and Sveinstindur did hardly find there way into continental guide-books. The mystery of the landscape, with endless highland plains, gains in strength by the lack of human presence. Take the track from F208 signposted Faxasund. Especially at the beginning the track to Faxadalur is very rough and you should go rather carefully, if you don't want to buy new tires for your standard 4WD offroader. After a few kilometers the track gets a lot easier, riding over smooth gravel and ash, sometimes hardly visible, unlike this track of an motorbike cutting into the untouched landscape.
